Sierrawoodworks was formed in 2004 by Jesús Sierra and Nic Damery. Our aim was to create wooden objects, both useful and decorative, based in the rich traditional and popular european culture, mainly Scandinavian and from Northern Spain.

Jesús Sierra comes from Spain, but has been living in Britain for three years.

"I started working with wood ten years ago when I met a master woodcarver and gilder in his 80's and became his apprentice/student. He taught me the very old fashioned way of wood carving, sculpting, gilding and restoring furniture over a period of four and a half  years.

About eight years ago I got very interested in popular arts and crafts when I met one of the very last spoonmakers in the Spanish Pyrenees (he was 86 at the time) and I haven't stopped since.

Later on I developed my own techniques for woodcarving, using both traditional (sometimes ancient) and modern tools".

Nic was born in London, but grew up in Wiltshire.

"I have always had a keen interest in working with wood
but did not start making on a regular basis in this
medium until I met Jesus four years ago.

Much of the inspiration for my designs originate from
my love of sketching and drawing wildlife and natural forms".
